My image is too large. What do I do?

The average size of an image taken with a smartphone can vary depending on the specific smartphone model and the settings used to capture the image. However, a common resolution for smartphone cameras is 12 megapixels, which produces images that are typically around 4000 pixels wide by 3000 pixels high.

The file size of an image can also vary depending on factors such as image format, compression, and image content. In general, a JPEG image taken with a smartphone can range from 1 to 3 megabytes (MB), while a RAW image can be significantly larger, often over 10 MB.

It’s worth noting that newer smartphone models may have higher resolution cameras that produce larger image sizes. Additionally, if you use your smartphone to capture video, the file sizes can be much larger than for still images, especially for high-resolution and high-frame-rate video.

You can resize your images for free here RESIZE MY IMAGE. The resizing service is provided by Adobe Photoshop.

Here are some additional tips on reducing image file size:

  1. Open the Image on your Smartphone: Open the image you want to resize in your smartphone’s photo gallery.
  2. Edit the Image: Most smartphones come with built-in photo editing tools that allow you to adjust the size and quality of images. On an iPhone, for example, you can tap “Edit” and then select the crop and resize tool. On an Android device, you can tap the pencil icon to access editing tools, and then choose “Resize”.
  3. Adjust the Image Size: Use the resizing tool to adjust the size of the image. Most smartphone photo editors allow you to adjust the size by dragging the edges of the image or by entering specific dimensions.
  4. Save the Resized Image: Once you have resized the image to your desired size, save the image. Be sure to choose a file format that will result in a smaller file size, such as JPEG or PNG. You may also have the option to adjust the quality or compression of the image to further reduce the file size.

By following these additional steps, you can easily reduce the file size of an image taken with a smartphone using the built-in editing tools on your device.
